Carma Leishman Jensen was born October 11, 1926 in Wellsville, Utah to Melvin Willis Leishman and Ruby Spence Archibald. Carma passed away in the early morning hours of September 13, 2018 at McKay-Dee Hospital. When Carma was just 3 ½ years old, her mother passed away and left her father with three small children to raise.

Her father remarried and had eight more children; Carma was the oldest of 11 children. She was raised on a farm and, as the oldest, had her share of the chores and responsibilities. She graduated from South Cache High School in Wellsville in 1944.

She met her husband Ephraim when he came to pick her sister up for a date and her sister wasn’t home. Eph asked Carma to go out with him and she said yes. They were married five months later in Preston, Idaho and were later sealed in the Logan Temple in December 1963.

After they were married, they lived in Hyde Park and Logan for the first four years and then moved to Ogden, where they have lived since. They have 5 sons and 1 daughter: Thomas (Sherry) Jensen, Dean (Toni) Jensen, Arnold (Gail) Jensen, Ricky (Brenda) Jensen, Joleen (Ralph) Francis, and Kenneth (Melinda) Jensen; 30 grandchildren and 73 great-grandchildren. Carma was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eph, her son Ricky and three brothers.

Carma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings, including primary, young women’s, relief society-president, secretary, and stake secretary. She was also an education counselor at the Ogden Care Center North. Carma enjoyed bowling and bowled on leagues for 20 years.

She also enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, quilting, sewing and gardening. She was a great cook and famous for her dinner rolls, which everyone loved. She enjoyed planting her flower gardens and watching them grow as well as making gifts with her embroidery talent.

In her later years, she crocheted on an almost daily basis making many afghans and hot-pads as gifts for family, friends and ward members. A special thank you to the emergency room and ICU staff and doctors at McKay-Dee Hospital that took such wonderful care of our mother. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Mt.

Lewis 4th Ward, 550 E 900 N, Ogden. A viewing will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Myers Ogden Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 am at the church.
