Obituary for Lillian Whitt (Bentley) Lillian Whitt, 77, of Hitchins passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. She was born June 22, 1941 in Grayson, a daughter of the late Milford and Belva McDavid Bentley. She was a retired bus driver and teachers aid in the Carter County Schools.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ollie Thornbury Jr.; two sisters, Nancy Marshall, and Ora Bentley; five brothers, Calvin, Randolph, Ernie, Jessie, and Roscoe McDavid. She was a member of the Victory Christian Center in Webbville, KY where she had served as bus driver. Lillian loved quilting and sewing and she had made several outfits for competitors in various horse shows.

Lillian had an unparalleled love for children, as evident in her commitment to the foster care program, where she cared for over 65 children. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, James Whitt; two sons, Kevin (Tina) Thornbury of Hitchins, Kenny (Brenda) Thornbury of Grayson; a daughter, Carolyn Sue (Charlie) Lemaster of Grayson; a step-son, Ralph (Wilma) Whitt of Grayson; a brother, Joe McDavid of Willard; four grandchildren, Tacara (Trent), Nichole, Travis (Stephanie) and Taylor; two step-grandchildren, Leann (Michael), and Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Isabel and Colton. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Victory Christian Center at Webbville, KY, David Webb, Jerry Porter, Kyle Burchett, and Mitch ton officiating.

Burial will follow at the East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson. Visitation will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Arrangements under the direction of the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.
