Obituary for Linda Joyce Leighton Linda Joyce Leighton LUBEC Linda Joyce Leighton , 75,Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend, passed away peacefully on Monday March 26, 2018 in Bangor surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 8, 1943 to the late Amos Dennison and Beatrice Denbow Dennison. Linda grew up in Cutler, Maine with her 9 siblings and attended Culter grammer school and then moved to Lubec ,attending Washington Academy.
In 1960 she married her husband of 58 years Carlton “BO”Leighton and began a family together . The years spent together were filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories with family and friends. Linda’s early employment began with working at Peacock’s Sardine Factory.
In later years she worked with her sister at Ray’s Seaview Restaurant, and Uncle Kippy’s. Her favorite past times were playing bingo, making arts and crafts, and spending time with family and friends at her camp on Gardners Lake. She also was a cheerleading coach at Lubec High School for many years.
She is survived by her: her loving husband, Carlton “BO” Leighton of Lubec; sons Dean and wife Daralene of Newark, DE and Dale of Lubec; a daughter Marietta of Lubec ; grandchildren – Dean Allen II , Ashley , and Patrick ; great grandchildren- Katelynn , Declan, Addy, and Dean Allen III ; sisters- Gail McFadden of Lubec; Ramona and husband Dean McCrider of S.C., Opal and husband Paul Yost of S.C. , Joyce and husband Dennis Skinner of Lubec; brothers- Homer of East Machias , Gary and wife Dottie of East Machias , Peter of AL, Kevin and wife Barbie of Wesley ;nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends (too numerous to list but not forgotten). In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother Maurice Dennison. Graveside services at the Lamson Cemetery, Lubec will be held in June.
