Linda Christine Rumage, 69, of Bardstown, KY, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at her residence after a long illness. She was born November 2, 1948 in Whitesville, KY, to Richard and Mary Ann Mayfield. She was a native of Daviess County, KY and moved to Bardstown in 2007.

She was a retired teacher in the Owensboro Public School System. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Bardstown Garden Club, and a knitting group at the Nelson County Public Library. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda is survived by her husband of 46 years, Norman, and her son Alex, his wife Krista, and two grandchildren, Clay and Grace. She is also survived by eight sisters: Jo (Eugene) Foster, Rose (Jerry) Wilson, Dot (Allan) Askins, Rachel Chapman, Donna (Donnie) Hagan, all of Daviess County, Rita (Tom) Sullivan of Ohio County, Janet Mayfield and Marsha (Luann) Mayfield of Winchester, KY; and one brother, Frank (Vickie) Mayfield, of Daviess County; as well as 17 nieces and nephews and several aunts. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, May 5 at 10 a.m., at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev.

Terry Bradshaw as the celebrant. Visitation will be from 8 – 10 a.m. before the service in the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Flaget Cancer Center or Hospice of Nelson County.
