Linda’s Obituary Linda Sue Hudson, 69, of Cole Camp, died Monday, February 25, 2019, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp. She was born on April 12, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of Robert Lewis and Ellen June (Goddard) Thompson. At a young age, she moved from Kansas City to Stover.

She was baptized in 1959 at the First Baptist Church in Stover. She graduated from Stover High School in 1967 and soon after, she married Chester Schlesselman at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp and this union was blessed with the gift of a son, Kevin. She had worked for the Good Samaritan Nursing Home and several local diners, including the Beehive, in Cole Camp and CW Flowers and License Bureau in Sedalia.

On December 24, 1988, she married Sam Hudson at the First Baptist Church in Stover. The couple lived in Greenville, South Carolina, before moving to Independence, Missouri, where she worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue. She retired in 1996 and moved with Sam to Stover in 1998.

She enjoyed going to auctions and helped set up at the Tri-County Auction in Versailles. She volunteered for the Stover Car Show and enjoyed traveling, rearranging furniture, playing with her dogs and cats, and watching the deer. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Stover and the Sedalia Moose Lodge, where she would go dancing every week and play cards with her friends.

In 2015, she moved to Cole Camp and bought a house next to the school, where her granddaughters, Katelyn and AJ would come to see her after school. She is survived by her son, Kevin Schlesselman and his wife Ami of Cole Camp; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Alisa Schlesselman; a step-daughter, Wendy Collins of Georgia; a step-son, Linn Hudson and his wife Suzanne of Newnan, Georgia; a step-granddaughter, Samantha Hudson; and a brother, Ron Thompson and his wife Verna of Wheatland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ellen Thompson and her husband, Samuel Hudson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019, at First Baptist Church, Cole Camp, with Pastor Chris Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery, Stover. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to First Baptist Church of Cole Camp in care of the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp, MO 65325. Pallbearers will be Michael Porter, Aaron Porter, Ronnie Ebeling, Danny Ebeling, Tom Cook, Wayne Ebeling, Tom McNeal, and Tom Rath.
