Linda Sue Slate, 69, of Hampstead, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Born on February 13, 1949 in Westminster she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruby Virginia (Lyons) Groft. She was the cherished companion of Jeff A. Doster, for 26 years.

Linda was a dedicated homemaker. She was previously employed for Dutterers where she worked in the packing department and also was a receptionist for CJ Miller. Linda enjoyed going to car… Read More » shows and traveling.

She especially looked forward to taking day trips with her daughter, Gail, every fall to Gettysburg. Above all she adored her family and the time she spent with them. Surviving in addition to her companion are beloved children and their spouses Gail and Bill Green of Manchester, Tony and Stacey Carr of Hanover, PA; stepson and his spouse Jeff, Jr. and Brittnay of Manchester; siblings Jean Groft of Westminster, Peggy Corns of Manchester, Ginger Groft of, WV, Joseph Groft of Littlestown, PA; adoring grandchildren Jacob Green, Andrew Green, Matthew Green, Mackenzie Carr, Ayden Carr, Maxwell Doster; great-grandchildren Noah and Grace Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Ernest Graham, Bud Groft, and Carl Groft. The family will welcome friends on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd. Westminster.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 15th at 12 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Madden officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Lung Association, www.
