Lonnie Wayne Smith Sr., 63, of Hurricane, passed away February 24, 2019 at home. He was born September 28, 1955 to the late Virgil and NelloJean Smith. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Billy Ray Smith.

Lonnie was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved to play with grandchildren, was an avid hunter and was a jokester. He worked at Tasty Blend Foods and attended both Trinity Christian Church and Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Wanda Smith; children, Marsha Carver (Phillip) of Huntington, Lonnie Smith II (Stephanie) of Hurricane, Amber Smith of Hurricane; sisters, Donna Meadows of Ripley and Sharon Vance of Pinch; brother, Paul Smith (Jenny) of Chapin, SC; nine grandchildren, Ahnna, Rachel, Lonnie III, Natalie, Chloe, Sierra, Linzie, Kendra and Ava; great grandchild, Drexel; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene at 358 Route 60, Culloden WV, with Pastor Phil Bower officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral at the church.
