Wanda June Johnson, 88, of Hurricane, West Virginia, passed away February 15, 2019 at Teays Valley Center, Hurricane. She was born July 26, 1930, in Scott Depot, to the late Landon and Ruby Powers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Johnson; sons, Michael and Benny Johnson; sisters, Urena Burnside, Lillian Welch and Helen Eggleston; brother, Landon Powers Jr; and grandson, Colton Jennings.

Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She retired from Putnam County Bank. She is survived by her children, Bobby Johnson II (Marilyn) of Hurricane, Betty Jennings (Tom) of Hurricane, Gregory Johnson of Charleston, Sheila Miller (Patrick) of Hurricane and Steven Johnson of Hurricane; brother, John Powers (Mary) of Georgia; daughter-in-law, Lisa Johnson; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Rev. Joe Fisher officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 pm prior to the service.
