Evelyn Scott, 92 of Scott Depot, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019. She was born March 7, 1926 to the late Henry and Bessie Barnett in Clay County. She is also preceded in death by her husband Dell Bronson Scott; granddaughter, Sydell Scott; daughter-in-law; Helen Scott; sisters Ruby Lavender, Marcella Barnett Opal Wilson, Ivah Wilson and brothers, Roy and Clyde Barnett.

Evelyn was a member of Summit Church, St. Albans. She is survived by her daughter, Debby Gresham (Hamm) of Scott Depot; son, Dell Michael Scott (Dorothy) of Hurricane; grandchildren, Michael Scott (Pat), Jeremy Gresham (Kristin), Joshua Gresham (Anna) and Tisa Yingst (Wes); and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with her grandson, Rev.

Joshua Gresham and Rev. Stephen Neese officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1:30pm until service time at the funeral home.

A private burial will be held at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. The family wishes to extend special thanks for the love and care our mother received to the Lighthouse unit of Cabell Health Care Center. You may visit her tribute page at ChapmanFuneralHomes.com to share memories with the family.
