James Benjamin Nance, 90, Hurricane, WV, passed away on March 11, 2019. Jim was born September 10, 1928 to the late Edgar and Hattie Nance. He was also preceded in death by his step mother Nellie Mae Nance; and son in law, Daniel Thaxton.

He was an instrument technician for Union Carbide. He also served his country in the US Army. He was a mason with Putnam Lodge #139 A.F. A. M. Jim is survived by his wife, Margaret Nance of Hurricane; children, Sandra Thaxton of Teays Valley, Ed Nance of Hurricane, Dave Nance (Stella L.) of Hurricane and Jenny Fizer (Scott) of Hurricane; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane. Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane, with military Honors and Masonic rites. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
