Airman Elijah Dante Lamont Drew, 19, of Hurricane, WV passed away January 31, 2019 in his home. AirMan Drew was the son of Patricia Wall, Thomas Drew and Tara Drew and was born March 18, 1999 in Charleston, WV. He is preceded in death by his MawMaw’s, Vanessa R Braggs, Barbra Drew, Lynda Wall, and Pat Wall; his cousin’s, Vinet “Vito” Drew, and David Braggs; uncle’s Lawrence “Gino” Drew, Samuel V Drew.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kayla Mae Drew, of Hurricane; unborn son, Maverick Drew; mother-in-law, Pam Douglas of Hurricane; sister, Azaria Wall of New Jersey; brothers, D’Aundre Drew, Ke’Aundre Drew, D’Vonte Drew of Hurricane; cousins, Julitha Braggs of Cross Lanes, James Pursley, Hadassah Pursley, Marco Pursley all of Florida; Jayden and Vinet Shaffer of Dunbar, Antonio McCoy of Cross Lanes; brothers-in-love, Jessie Lester, Hurricane, Dajuan Dawson, Saint Albans, Beau Rutledge, Delaware; grandparents, Joyce Likens and Harold Likens of Chapmanville; David Braggs of Dunbar; uncles, Johnny Burkes of Connecticut, Alfonso Hooper of Columbus, Bobby Hooper of Columbus, Delbert Hooper of Columbus; aunts, Debra Wall of Florida, Aritha Hooper of Columbus, Sylvia Hooper of Columbus and a host of friends and family. Airman Elijah Dante Drew, aka Tae, Lil Chuck, Freckles, graduated from Hurricane High School through MCA from there he worked odd jobs before going to the United States Air-Force Elijah loved his family and friends unconditionally; he loved to make music and perform with his brothers and friends, it put such a big smile on his face even if it was over FaceTime. He planned on releasing his first EP in March, 2019.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm Monday, February 11, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane. Burial will follow in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial Sate Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar with full honors provided by Wright-Patterson AFB. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
