Louis’ Obituary Oswego— Louis A. Fragale, 81, of Oswego passed away January 28, 2019 at Upstate Hospital. Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Catherine (Chalone) Fragale. Louis served in the US ARMY.

Louis was an electrician and was employed by Alcan. Beloved husband, father, brother, and Papa. A generous, loyal, devoted and hardworking man; someone who was unselfish and always giving.

Louis was a Mr. Fix-it. He was always one to lend a helping hand, no questions asked. He enjoyed traveling to Mesa, Arizona during the winters, and for 18 years he made the drive with his wife Linda, who gave him the nickname Lead-foot Louie.

When he wasn’t working around the house or helping others, Louis enjoyed reading anything and everything; he had a special interest in reading about history. He also enjoyed spending time with his animals, Half-Pint and Desaray. Together, Louis and Linda had a great marriage of 57 wonderful years and they loved one another fiercely.

They created a loving family and made memories that will be cherished forever. In the words of Big Lou, as we liked to call him, “You can’t be afraid of life”. We love you Louis, Dad, Papa, and we will never forget you.

Surviving are his wife, Lindalee; daughter, Michele (Mike) Fragale of Oswego; two sons, Michael (Beth) Fragale of Chittenango and Mark Fragale of Oswego; brother, Larry Fragale of Burnt Hill NY; sister, Florence Hutchinson of Baldwinsville NY; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Anthony, Nicole, Frankie, Alexis, Sara, Dante and Anna; five great grandchildren, Helena, Aiden, Grayson, Mila and Grayson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Mike, Fred, Joe and Vincent Fragale. Calling hours will be 3-6PM Thursday, January 31st, 2019 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.

Funeral services will be at 10am Friday, February 1st, 2019, at the Funeral Home, followed by entombment at St. Peter’s Mausoleum with Military Honors. In Lieu of flowers, to remember Louis in a special way, you can make donations to the American Cancer Society.
