John “Jack”‘s Obituary John “Jack” Jermyn, 82, of Oswego, died February 23, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Elmer and Helena (Wright) Jermyn. He was an US Army veteran having served during the Cold War.

Jack worked for Niagara Mohawk for 31 years retiring in 1995. He served as Union Steward, Vice President, and Executive Board Member of Local Union 478. He was also the President of The Niagara Mohawk Retirees Club.

For more than 50 years, he served as Security and Usher for the Oswego Speedway, and was a Hall of Fame Inductee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, casinos, golfing and bowling. He was a life member of the Oswego Elks 271.

Surviving are his wife, Karen (Arden) Jermyn; two sons, David Jermyn of Oswego; Dean (Jennifer) Jermyn of California; a sister Helen Mary Jermyn of Oswego; grandchildren Alex, Halley and Jayden Jermyn; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Thomas Jermyn and a sister Anne Bishop. Calling hours will be held 3-7PM Tuesday, February 26th at the Nelson Funeral home.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM Wednesday, at the Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego. Contributions can be made to Oswego County Hospice, PO Box 102 44 East Bridge Street Oswego NY 13126. Nelson Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
