Louis Mecsey, 90, of Stewartsville, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Louis was born on Goodsprings Road in Stewartsville, NJ on July 31, 1928 to the late Henry and Mary Toth Mecsey. Louis was a painter and packer at M&M Mars of Hackettstown, NJ for 35 years.

He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Louis loved farming and mowing his lawn. He enjoyed, fishing, metal detecting and cars.

Louis was an avid Horseshoe thrower and was 2-Time New Jersey State Champ in Horseshoes in 1979 and 1994. He also liked polka music and playing the accordion in the Mecsey Brother Band. Louis was a member of Mecsey-Bishop American Legion Post 456 in Stewartsville, NJ, Louis is survived by sons, Kevin Mecsey and his wife Lisa of Warren Glen, NJ and Greg Mecsey and his wife Lorie of Hardwick Twsp, NJ; a daughter, Barbara Leemasters of Hackettstown, NJ; grandson, Jacob; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Louis was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Albina M. “ Lolly” Paolini Mecsey; siblings, Henry, Stephen, Joseph, Mary, Albert, Frank, Elizabeth, and John. A Funeral Service for Louis will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11am at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Cemetery in Greenwich Township, NJ. Online condolences may be submitted at www. rupellfuneralhome.com.
