Louise’s Obituary Louise Hammersmith passed away peacefully at home in Wheaton on February 6, 2019. She was born on June 26, 1931, in Poona, India, to Arthur and Brunette Hanney. She came to the United States in 1951, and spent her time in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida with her beloved husband Chuck Hammersmith, who passed away in 2017.

She loved cooking, gardening, fishing, tennis, reading, and dancing. Her senses of humor and style were intact until the end. She was preceded in death by her daughter Ann, former husband Charles McGee, and her brothers Sidney and Roland.

She leaves 3 children, Harold McGee, Michael McGee, and Joan Thomas (Richard); 4 grandchildren, John McGee, Florence McGee, Sarah (Daniel) Thomas, Julia (Seth) Thomas, and one great-grand child, Remy Thomas Pitman; as well as Chuck’s four children, Chip Hammersmith, Steve Hammersmith (Don Dennis), Ann Hammersmith, Michael Hammersmith; six grandchildren, Laura Brown (Jeff), Kim Cassel (Michael), Charlie Bromann, Jill Bromann, Jessica Korb (Michael), and Chandon Hammersmith; and five great-grandchildren, Nolan and Connor Brown, Ben and Nathan Cassel, and Ruby Korb. She will be missed by all.
