Louise’s Obituary “Louise Seale” Anna Louise (Siskowski) was born in Hayden, Colorado to Julius Siskowski and Matilda (Klemm) (Siskowski) Gibson on February 18, 1924. As a new infant, Louise, her mother, and siblings Freddie, Herbert, Mildred, and Esther moved to the Klemm family farm in Russellville/Piney, Arkansas. Louise grew up and went to school in the area.
Her senior year she moved, with her two older sisters, to Denver, Colorado and graduated from West High School in 1943. After graduation Louise became “Rosie the Riveter; she worked on planes in Denver and later in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the Church of Christ in Salt Lake City, Louise met and married young army soldier Dalton Brantley Seale.
They married June 3, 1945. Their civilian and family life started in and around Salt Lake City. In 1946, daughter Dawna was born.
The young family relocated to Elfrida, Arizona, Dalton’s home town, in 1949 where she and Dalton operated an auto repair shop and farmed. Here three more children were born in Douglas, AZ: Terry in 1949, Betty Jo in 1953 and Robert in 1955. Louise had a full, busy life being wife, mother, homemaker, bible class teacher, 4-H leader, artist, flower gardener, and later an LPN.
She was an avid reader, loved to crochet, was an amazing seamstress, had music playing continually, and canned many jars of jams, jellies, pickles, and more. At 46, Louise went back to school to become an LPN. She was able to work 20 years at the Southeast Arizona Medical Center in Douglas and loved being a nurse.
Major changes in 1989: Louise had surgery for a brain tumor and was no longer able to work in nursing. Her husband Dalton also died later that year. Louise kept busy and took oil painting classes.
She painted many beautiful pictures. The brain tumor continued to plague her; surgery again in 1993 and radiation in 1997. A side effect of these later treatments left her unable to tolerate the smell of the oils.
Her paint brush was stilled. However, her flower gardens remained her love and gave her so much pleasure. Many said Louise certainly had a “green thumb”.
Even with some disabilities, Louise continued to live alone and enjoy her beloved rural life in Elfrida. Health concerns forced her to move to Tempe, AZ in 2008 to be near her children. She may have been transplanted to the city, but she still grew colorful flowers in her back yard and developed many new friends.
Louise Seale, at the age of 94, passed on January 16, 2019 in Tempe, AZ at the Friendship Village Hospice of the Valley. Louise was predeceased by her siblings, her parents and her husband. She is survived by her children; Dawna (Dale) Phipps of Mesa, Terry Seale of Tucson, Betty Jo (Unie) Redus of Chandler, and Robert (Julie) Seale of Glendale, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held January 21, 2019 at Tempe Mortuary, 405 East Southern, Tempe, AZ. Burial will be later in McNeal, Arizona Cemetery, beside her husband and near her parents. In keeping with her caring heart, honor Louise by making donations in her name to: Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, Inc., PO Box 111180, Nashville, TN.
