On October 20, 1925 Lucille Alodia Heinl was born to Bernard W. Sr. and Agnes (Fenn) Heinl. God raised Lucie’s soul to Heaven on November 6, 2018. Lucie attended St. Ann’s and SS.

Peter and Paul Elementary Schools. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy and then joined the Order of the Sisters of Notre Dame. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mary Manse College and a Masters of Education degree from Bowling Green State University.

As Sister Mary Luciana, SND, Lucie taught 25 years in the Catholic Schools of: Toledo-Gesu, St. Mary, Sacred Heart and Notre Dame Academy; Fremont-St. Joseph; Sandusky-St. Mary; Norwalk-St. Paul, and Bellevue-Immaculate Conception. Lucie then taught 10 years in the Springfield School System at Holland Elementary and Springfield High School. Following her teaching years, Lucie was self-employed with her Heinl’s Tax Service for 33 years, she was a Treasurer of the Democratic Business and Professional Women’s Club of Lucas County and Public Employees Retirement Group Chapter 90, volunteering many years at the Democratic Headquarters.

Lucie was also a member of Maumee Eagles 2562. Lucie greatly enjoyed the casino and playing cards with family and friends. Lucie received approval from the Pope to return to life as a lay person in 1969 and in 1980, Lucie married Eugene Lukasik.

Surviving Lucie are siblings, Mary Margaret Einhart, Catherine Feck, Carol Szurminski, and step-siblings, Harry (Jean), and Pearl Roberts; Anthony (Marianne), and Ronald (Jeri) Matthews, Helen Marie (Richard) Michalek, and Rose Matthews; special family relatives, Elaine Miller and Jacqueline Tressler; and special friends, Marvin & Judi Fox, Scott & Connie Sutton, Howard Weith, Penny & James Henderson, and Tamera Riggs of Visiting Angels. Preceding Lucie in death, were her parents, Bernard W. Sr. & Agnes Mary (Fenn) Heinl; step-mother, Helen (Matthews) Heinl; husband, Eugene Lukasik whom she married in 1980; Heinl brothers, Bernard Jr. (Ethel), James, and David; sisters, Sister Mary Immaculee SND, Dorothy (John) Rooney, Sister Mary Louisa SND, Bernadine (Richard) Miller, Dolores (Robert) Mack, and Louise Paula Heinl; brother-in-law, Gerald Feck; and step-siblings, Richard, William, and John Roberts, and Thomas Matthews. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12th from 3-8:00 p.m., with a sharing of memories at 6:00 p.m. and Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 with prayers in the mortuary at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church (4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. ). Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Lucie’s family offers heartfelt thanks to Lucie’s caregivers at The Franciscan Center, The Henderson House, Genacross Lutheran Services, and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Tributes may be made to Sisters of Notre Dame at 3912 Sunforest Court, Toledo, OH 43623 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
