Lurinda Lee Gehlen, 70, of Medicine Lodge, KS, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, OH. She was born on April 17, 1949 in Hardtner, KS, the daughter of Elam Preston “Bill” Chance and Virginia Anne (Mullikin) Chance. On September 30, 1967, she married Raphael “Ray” Gehlen in Medicine Lodge, KS.

He survives. Lurinda was a graduate of Medicine Lodge High School and attended the First Baptist Church, Medicine Lodge, KS. Surviving in addition to her husband, Ray Gehlen of Medicine Lodge, KS are one son, Tony Gehlen of Medicine Lodge, KS; two daughters, Nicole (Ian) Mull of Heath, OH and Marsha (Shawn) Finch of Medicine Lodge, KS; Seven grandchildren, Leyann Gehlen, Mya Gehlen, Katlin (Andy) Gehlen, Shilae Bland, Shiloe Bland, Stephen (Amber) Finch, and Aaleyah Finch; Six great-grandchildren, Jaxton, Dryden, Ava, Elam, Talia, and Lillian; two brothers, Tim (Janet) Chance and Jerry Chance of Medicine Lodge, KS.

Lurinda was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Tom and Michael Chance. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.at the First Assembly of God Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Rodney Worsham officiating.
