Obituary for Luther Clary Anthony Luther Clary Anthony Springhill, LA Funeral Services for Luther Clary Anthony, age 93, will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Springhill United Methodist Church Springhill, LA, with Rev. Dr. Jonathan King officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Springhill United Methodist Church. Mr. Anthony was born on October 1, 1924 to Frank and Effie Strickland Anthony in Hopeville, AR and passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He served his country in the United States Navy and was retired from Anthony Forest Products Company, where he served as President and CEO.

Mr. Anthony served as chairman of the board of Citizens Bank and Trust Company of Springhill. He was a faithful member of the Springhill United Methodist Church; was an avid hunter, and golfer, and also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, his Sunday school class, and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Frankie Sayers Anthony of Springhill, LA; son, Luther “Mark” C. Anthony Jr. and wife, Sharon of Atlanta, TX; daughter, Lynda J. Anthony of Shreveport, LA; seven granddaughters, Amy Hunter and husband, J.R. of Texarkana, TX, Lea Porter and husband, Ben of Evanston, IL, Julia Villarroel and husband, Sergio of Barcelona, Spain, Keri Richardson and husband, Joe of Atlanta, TX, Juli Barrera and husband, David of Yona, Guam, Lara Coseo and husband, Jeff of Little Elm, TX, Sara Bryant and husband, Travis of Jonesboro, LA; six great-grandsons, Tate Hooper, Andrew Hooper, Zeke Porter, Conley Richardson, Cullen Richardson and, Ben Barrera; seven great-granddaughters, Mia Hunter, June Porter, Nico Villarroel, Ena Villarroel, Cordia Richardson, Madge Barrera, Lucy Barrera; brother, Henry Anthony and wife, Joan of Shreveport, LA; two foreign exchange students, Kjell Sletten of Norway and Henny van Egmond of The Netherlands; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by a wife, June Henderson Anthony; his parents; four brothers, Melvin, Bruce, Beryl, and Aubra Anthony; and two sisters, Alma Crawford and Bernice Bullock. Pallbearers will be Darrel Jans, Steve Walker, Robert Garland, Anthony Manuel, Sam Crawford, Martin Anthony. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ed Schults’ Sunday School Class.
