Obituary for Bill R. Rhyne Bill R. Rhyne Springhill, LA Funeral services for Mr. Bill R. Rhyne, age 91, will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Chaplain James Wagg officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA. Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2018, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mr. Rhyne was born on October 23, 1927 to Russel and Faye Nelson Rhyne in Bowie, TX and passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in Springhill, LA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Springhill Country Club where he held the record for the most “holes in one”. He was the owner and operator of a Ben Franklin Variety Store in Springhill for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva “Ginny” Coates Rhyne; of Springhill, LA; three daughters, Debbie Murphree and husband, David of Dickinson, TX, Vickie Cummings of Texarkana, TX, Karen Whaley and husband, Wayne of Springhill, LA; six grandsons, John Richard Rhyne, Jr.; Allen Turner; Aaron Murphree; Corey Whaley; Brian Whaley; Lucas Cummings; three granddaughters, Deena Doran, Amanda Alwine and Kara Cummings; great-grandchildren, Madison Turner, Cailyn Turner, Madelyn Whaley Dayton Whiseant, Bella Cummings, Levi Cummings, Preston Whiseant, Aubrey Alwine, Lincoln Cummings; sister, Carol Mitchell of Pheonix, AZ. Mr. Rhyne was preceded in death by his father, Russel Rhyne; his mother, Faye Goodson; his step-father, Richard Goodson; son, John Richard Rhyne; brothers, Lloyd Rhyne, Roger Rhyne, and, Fred Rhyne, and a sister, Mary Jane Rhode. Pallbearers will be Richard Johnson, Mike Allen, Dwain O’Steen, Bobby Hornbuckle, Lonnie Smith and Dennis Lee.
