Obituary for Robert L. Garner Robert L. Garner, age 74 and JoAnn Troquille Garner, age 72 both entered their Heavenly home on Sunday, December 23, 2018 while at their home. Robert was first to meet the Lord and was shortly followed by his loving wife, JoAnn. Robert was born on June 6, 1944 in El Dorado to the late Leona Goff Garner and Irby Garner.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Trinity Chapel Assembly of God. He was a retired street superintendent for the City of El Dorado’s Transportation and Sanitation Dept, having served 47 years before his retirement in the summer of 2018. He was an avid gardener and could grow most anything.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Georgia Bridges and Mary Burke. Survivors include; his daughter, Julia Calhoun and husband Tom of Rogers, AR; two grandsons, Coltin Webb of Parkers Chapel and Will Calhoun of Rogers; one sister, Billie Jo Pickett of Harrison, AR; and a special friend and Cousin, Juanita Bryant and husband W.L. JoAnn was born on February 26, 1946 in Natchitoches, LA to the late Varice Breedlove Troquille and Joseph M. Troquille. She was a member of Trinity Chapel Assembly of God, where she led the music for over 45 years and formerly worked in the cafeteria for El Dorado School District, for many years.
She loved the Lord, loved her family and loved helping others. She was a devoted wife, Mother and Nana. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Garner; three brothers, C.D. Troquille, W.C. Troquille and Jimmy Troquille.
Survivors include; her daughter, Julia Calhoun and husband Tom of Rogers, AR; two grandsons, Coltin Webb of Parkers Chapel and Will Calhoun of Rogers; one sister, Liz Collins of Waco, TX; three brothers, David Troquille and wife Sharie of Shreveport, LA, Joe Troquille and Cindy Sayers of Serepta, LA, and Larry Troquille of Tyler, TX also, a special friend and cousin, Juanita Bryant and husband W.L. Visitation for both Robert and JoAnn will be from12:00 noon until funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado, with Bro. Terry Burke and Bro. Paul Purifoy officiating.
Private interment will be at Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
