Obituary for Kathleen Rose Young Kathleen Rose Young Benton, LA Funeral services for Kathleen Rose Young, age 86, will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church, Benton, LA, with Rev. Wade Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Plain Dealing, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA. Mrs. Young was born on April 8, 1932 to Oscar and Jannie Balentine in Big Flat, AR and passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in Bossier City, LA. She was a homemaker and faithful member of her church.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, visiting with friends, and garage sales. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Dyer and husband, Willie Joe of Benton, LA; son, David Young and wife, Lori of Benton, LA; six granddaughters, Jana Carwile and husband, Jason of Haughton, LA, Amy Michelle Shaw and husband, Martin “Penny” of Hosston, LA, Patricia Ann Young of Texarkana, TX, Rachael Bourque and husband, Jason of Elm Grove, LA, Carrie Jewell ton and husband, C.J. of Benton, LA, Chelsea Saunders of Benton, LA; five grandsons, Michael Ray Young, II. of Elm Grove, LA, Jason Oliver Prudhome and wife, Dawn of Doyline, LA, Jason Haskins and wife, Dolly of Shreveport, LA, Christopher Haskins and wife, Amber of Many, LA, Alex Saunders and wife, Jessica of Bossier City, LA; great-grandson, Adrian Micah Young and wife, Tori of Cotton Valley, LA; twenty great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jesse Balentine of Conroe, AR, Oscar Balentine, Jr. of Benton, LA; sister, Jo Ann Trunko and husband, Ed of Goodlettsville, TN; three sisters-in-law, Del Balentine of Springhill, LA, Martha Jo Balentine of Conway, AR, Jeannie Balentine of Shongaloo, LA; a host of nieces and nephews; and Beloved dog, Zippo.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Arnold Ray Young; her parents; son, Michael Ray Young, Jr.; granddaughters, Lisa Marie Young and Crystal Prudhome; brothers, Carl Balentine, J. W. Balentine, Willard Balentine, and Stanley Balentine. Pallbearers will be: Charlie Compton, Alex Saunders, John O. “Butch” Charles, Dennis Holden, Rickey Young, and Ted Cash. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mack Young, George Horst, and Steve Charles.
