Obituary for Mack Lewis Lawson Mack Lewis Lawson, age 89, of Ross Circle, Rogersville, went to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, December 20, 2018, after an extended illness of dementia. He served in the U.S. Marines Corp. during the Korean War, and retired from Holston Electric Cooperative after working for over 38 years.
He was a member of Westview Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as Trustee, Sunday School Director, and Groundskeeper. He was a 50 year member of the Overton Masonic Lodge #5 Rogersville and Scottish Rite of Knoxville. He was the co-founder of the Christian gospel group “True Faith Singers” whom traveled throughout the region sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He was the son of the late Mack Ray and Roxie Gillenwater Lawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Elizabeth “Dumpie” Lawson; sister, Mildred and husband V.R. Courtney. Mack is survived by his sons, Ronnie (Debbie) Lawson of Rogersville, and Gary Lawson (Shirley) of Tazewell; grandchildren, Brandon (Michelle) Lawson, Christy (Jason) Clark, Gary (Ashley) Lawson Jr., and Amy Lawson (Chris) Chandley; several great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the amazing staff of Signature Healthcare of Rogersville, whom he loved very much, especially Kathy Williams, CNA. Also, a special thank you to Randi Linkous, a very special caregiver to Mack. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville.
Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Ray Mullins and Rev. Earl Cummins officiating.
Music will be provided by special singers, former True Faith Singers. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.
