Margaret Ann “Peg” McAllister, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away October 30, 2018 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on September 7, 1942 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to Chester and Marie (Baric) Laye. She graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1960 and Wilson College in 1983.

She was a drug and alcohol counselor and had been a sponsor for many friends in recovery. She was a longtime friend of Bill W. She enjoyed attending the sessions by the sea every fall in Ocean City, MD. Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children: Joe (husband of Eva) Mills of Marysville, PA and Marina (companion of Kevin Summers) Tolbert of Chambersburg. She has six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by seven sisters: Miriam Martin of Fayetteville, Susan Campanga of Florida, Virginia Mullen of Florida, Pam Hughes of Chambersburg, Melanie Hykes of Chambersburg, Rose Wolff of Florida, Val Taylor of Florida and four brothers; James Laye of Chambersburg, Jessie Laye of Chambersburg, Robert Breneman of Chambersburg and John Breneman of Chambersburg.

In addition to her husband, William McAllister she was preceded in death by a son, D. Frank Mills Jr. and two brothers; Chester Jr. and Charles Laye. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg with Rev. Steven Osborn officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
