Obituary – Margaret Louise Landis Margaret Louise Condit Landis, age 92, of Lamoni, Iowa, was born on September 12, 1925, to Frederick and Blossom (White) Condit, in Leon, Iowa. She died at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa on Sunday, September 9, 2018. Margaret graduated from Lamoni High School in 1943.

She attended Graceland College for a year and then worked in her parents’ clothing store in Lamoni. She married Samuel Franklin Landis in 1948, at the Tower Building on the Graceland… Read More » campus. They settled in Des Moines, Iowa.

She worked as a secretary, in food service and sold Tupperware, Shaklee, and Share America. But her favorite job was being mom to her three children, Marnie, Bill, and Sammie. Margaret was a faithful member of the Community of Christ Church.

She and Sam shared the love of Christ through many years of volunteering as camp counselors at Guthrie Grove, Zion’s League Leaders, and Older Youth Ministries. Margaret is survived by her children, Marnie Rivers of Lamoni, Bill Landis of Des Moines, Iowa, and Sammie Bruce and husband, Donnie, of Sac City, Iowa; her grandchildren, Beth & Wes Witte, Abby Landis, Tristan Bruce and Garret Bruce; great grandchildren, Jaiden and Gage Witte and Izzy and Penny Pattee; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Sam Landis; grandson, Ryan Goodman; brother, Bob Condit; and sister, Katy Condit.

Memorial services will be held at the Lamoni Community of Christ Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Lamoni, Iowa. Arrangements were through the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home, Leon and Lamoni, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established by the Family.
