Margaret Lee Thompson, age 59, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 22, 2018 after a twelve-year battle with cancer. Peggy was born on October 26, 1958, in Racine, WI to William and Donna Folstrom. In 1985 she moved to Janesville, and married her husband Steve Thompson in 1986.

In 1986 she also began her thirty-year career at Crop Production Services, where she met many of her life-long friends. Peggy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved gardening and taking care of her yard, going for walks with Baxter, golfing, her book club, and being lucky at the Casino.

Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Williams and St. John Vianney Church, and she often attended First Lutheran Church with her friends. Peggy is survived by her parents, William and Donna Folstrom, her husband Steven Thompson, her daughter Tara Mikulecky, her son Jared (Pam) Thompson, and her grand-dog Baxter.

Siblings: Theresa (Nancy Shircel) Folstrom, Bill (Shawn) Folstrom, Rick (Tina) Folstrom, Lisa (Rod) Hackbart, Heidi (Butch) Galbraith, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lori Lueck. A Celebration of Life will be held at Rotary Gardens, 1455 Palmer Dr. in Janesville, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., a service at 12:00 p.m. and a gathering for family and friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. A special thank you to the doctors at the Mayo Clinic, Froedtert, U-W Hospitals – Dr. Bailey, Mercy Hospital – Dr. Robinson, and the nursing staff at Agrace for their care of Peggy throughout and at the end of her journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Hope Lodge at the Mayo Clinic are most appreciated. The Hope Lodge was very helpful in providing lodging and support for Peggy and Steve over the years.
