Maria’s Obituary Obituary Maria DeLaCruz, 65 Maria del Carmen Vara DeLaCruz, 65, of Blackfoot, passed away, Friday, February 8, 2019 at Bingham Memorial Hospital. Maria was born January 9, 1954 in Del Rio, Texas to Mercedes Vara and Maria de Jesus Castillo. She attended school in Del Rio, Texas.
She moved to Twin Falls, Idaho and on August 24, 1972 Maria married Clemente DeLaCruz. They were married for over 46 years. On their 25th anniversary they renewed their vows at the St. Bernards Catholic Church.
Maria worked as a homemaker, taking care of her home and caring for her children. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Maria loved cooking, spending time with her family and going on vacation.
Her biggest accomplishments were her husband, four children and grandchildren. She would make crafts and sew in her free time and was always adding elephants to her collection. Her favorite holiday was New Years.
She would celebrate her birthday on New Years since it was so close and loved to cook and throw a big party for her family and friends. Most of all she will be remembered for her full of life personality that drew people in to her. She will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten.
Maria is survived by her husband, Clemente DeLaCruz of Blackfoot; children, Clemente DeLaCruz Jr. of Blackfoot, Susana (Margarito) Robles of Rigby, Juan Jose DeLaCruz (Chasidy Martinez) of Blackfoot, Marybel DeLaCruz (Jose Jimenez) of Preston; siblings, Juan Manuel Vara, Mercedes (Guille) Vara Jr., Leticia (Lito) Reyna, Martha (Mike) Mcquillen, Sara Vara, Juanita (Eliseo Reyes), Cipriano (Diana) Mena Sr. all of Texas and Lucia Moulton of California. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Clemente DeLaCruz III (Yvette Villalobos) of Pocatello, ID, Anna Maria Borjas (Juan Martinez) of Teton, ID, Jose Antonio Borjas (Brianna Anderson) of Rigby, ID, Elizabeth Vanessa Borjas, Cassandra Jailyn Herrera, Rafael Herrera Jr, Alondra Ezmeralda Herrera, Nicholas DeLaCruz, Justice Sandoval, Ezmeralda Alicia Maria DeLaCruz, Jazmin Carmen Alexis DeLaCruz; and 10 great grandchildren, Ivanlynn Sue Sandoval, Destiny Borjas, Isabella Elizabeth Borjas, Audrianna Maria Borjas, Brinley Sophia Borjas, Paisley Christine Borjas, Damian Cornelio Chavez, Juan Jesus Martinez, Jaime Estella DeLaCruz and Evan Ryder DeLaCruz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mercedes Vara and Maria de Jesus Castillo.
A rosary service will be held on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Ave. Blackfoot, ID.
