Maria was born on April 13, 1955 in Harlingen, Texas to Nieves & Hilaria C. Hernandez. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Marciana Hernandez, Macedonio Hernandez, & Encarnacion Hernandez, nephews, Jose Hernandez Jr. & Orlando Hernandez, and niece, Carmen Hernandez.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her husband, Jorge Ramirez Medina; daughter, Maria De La Luz Medina; grandchildren, Jared Medina & Macedonio Medina; siblings, Anacleto Hernandez, Severiano Hernandez, Dominga Hernandez, Emeterio Hernandez, Margarita Leal, Arcadio Hernandez, Magdaleno Hernandez, Rosalia Gonalez, Isabel Cantu, & Amalia Hernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends. Visitation will be Friday, January 18, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the prayer of the holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Interment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in La Feria. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be her Godchildren, Jose Sanchez, Oscar Gonzalez, Jose Ramos, Nathaniel Martinez, Andrew Gonzalez, Reynaldo Cantu, & Jorge Hernandez.
