Ricardo “Rick” Garcia January 01, 1957 – January 19, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Ricardo “Rick” Garcia, 62, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family in his childhood home on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Rick was born in Harlingen, Texas and graduated from Harlingen High School Class of 1976. There after he started his life journey with his highschool sweetheart, wife, Norma Chavez Garcia and moved to Houston, Texas where they lived for 42 years & soon started their family.

He proudly owned his company, Silver Star Sheetmetal. Rick was a mentor to many and a friend to everyone. He enjoyed life to the fullest spending time with family, traveling, & fishing.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bernadino “Nino” Garcia; mother, Aurora G. Garcia; sisters, Miss Lydia Garcia, & Elvia G. Rios; brother, Juan B. Garcia; cousins, Maria Isabel Garcia, Martin Garcia, & Antonio Lerma, and brother-in-law, Cesar Vega. Rick leaves his beloved wife of 42 years, Norma Garcia to cherish his memory and is survived by his daughters, Christina Inez Garcia (fiance, Mark Quinones) & Amanda Garcia Martinez (Ernest A. “Ernie” Martinez); grandsons, Joshua Sosa & Xavier Garcia Sosa; sisters, Delia G. Martinez (David Martinez); Dolia Esparza, Dalia Vega, & Maria Inez Torres; and an abundance of nieces & nephews. Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Funeral Chapel.

Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral procession will depart Trinity Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Heavenly Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in La Feria, Texas. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Edward Araiza, Guadalupe Garcia, Narciso “Cheecho” Montiel, Mike Chavez Jr., Ernest A. “Ernie” Martinez, Mark Quinones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Sosa & Xavier Garcia Sosa. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home 1002 East Harrison Avenue Harlingen, Texas 78550 (956)364-2444.
