Marie Ciarlo October 12, 1921 – March 11, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book WATERBURY Marie Ciarlo “Loving Mother, Sister & Friend” Mrs. Marie (Jacovino) Ciarlo, 97, of Waterbury, was reunited with her husband in heaven on Monday, March 11, 2019, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Romeo Nicholas Ciarlo. Marie was born in Waterbury on October 12, 1921, daughter of the late Joseph “Nick” and Anna (DiLeo) Jacovino.

She was a graduate of Wilby High School and worked as a cashier of Grand Union for many years. Marie was an avid sports fan and faithfully loved watching her UConn Women’s Basketball Team and the New York Yankees. Marie leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter; Diane Ciarlo Bisson and her husband Bertrand P. Bisson M.D. of Watertown, her brother Edward Jacovino and his wife Shirley of West Hartford, her daughter-in-law Sharon Ciarlo of Delaware, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings; Joseph Jacovino, Cpl. Angelo Jacovino who was killed in combat while proudly serving his country in WWII and Christine Jacovino. Marie’s family would like to thank her three aids, Sabuette Bethea, Marge Mastropietro and Gifty Ansah, for all of the wonderful and exceptional care they gave to her at home.

Arrangements: A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. There will be no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with handling Marie’s funeral arrangements.
