Marilyn J. Sterling, 83, of Macungie, Pa. formerly of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Monday May 14th at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Born Wednesday, June 13, 1934 in Patterson, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth C. & Carrie P. (Beers) Ockenhouse.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the clerical department of The Lehighton Water Authority as a secretary. Marilyn was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton and was a member of The Lehighton Area Red Hat Society. She was an avid bowler and participated in many local tournaments.

In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, bus trips in the United States and spending time with her family. Surviving is a daughter, Kathy L. Sterling-Curran and her husband Craig S. Curran of Macungie, 2 sons, Robert J. Sterling & his wife Kathy L. of Lehighton, Kenneth K. Sterling and his wife Susan L. of Lehighton, a sister, Corine Shaffer of Franklin Township, a brother, Norton T. Ockenhouse of Weatherly, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Karen Harrison.

A Celebration Of Life Service in her honor will be held on Friday, May 18th at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 South 3rd St., Lehighton, Pa. Call 9-10:30 a.m. in the church. The interment will follow the services in The Lehighton Cemetery.
