Mario “Mayito” Alberto Lopez, age 39, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Methodist Hospital, located in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 27, 1979 in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico. Preceding him in death was his sister, Alma Rosa Lopez; paternal grandfather, Osvaldo Lopez; maternal grandfather, Raul Ramon Salas; uncle, Jose Antonio Lopez.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his mother, Alma Rosa Lopez and stepfather, Pablo Lopez of Del Rio; sister, Daniela Stephanie Lopez of Austin; nephew, Braxton Martinez of Austin; grandmother, Guadalupe Hernandez; aunts/uncles: Raul Ramon and wife Delia Ramon of San Antonio, Veronica Vasquez and husband Alfredo Vasquez of Del Rio, and Jorge Ramon of Del Rio Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. by Juanita Liciaga. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Brandon Martinez, Jorge Lopez, Aaron Vasquez, Osvaldo Lopez, Fidel Navarro Jr., and Diego Rubio. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Trinity Mortuary, 206 Kings Way, Del Rio, Texas, located in Ceniza Hills.
