Marion Gail’s Obituary Marion Gail Welch, 60, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Gail was born November 18, 1958 in Many, Louisiana to Roderick and Eva Byrd Tate. She was a graduate of West Sabine High School and she worked for many years as City Secretary for the City of Pineland.

She is survived by her husband, Rayford Welch of Hemphill, Texas; daughter, Brandi Havard and husband, Daniel, of Hemphill; step daughters, Bridget Dew and husband, Jason, of Pineland, Texas and Carrie Harley, also of Pineland; step-son, Dallas Welch and wife, Kay, of Pineland; brothers, Winston Tate and wife, Carolyn, of Jasper, Texas, Glen Tate and wife, Billie, of Brownsboro, Texas, and Don Tate and wife, Janet, of Pineland; one grandchild, Makenzie Havard of Hemphill; and seven step-grandchildren. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Roderick and Eva Tate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating. Burial will follow services in Centerview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Collin Dew, Daren Dew, Dakota Dew, Jo Jo Bice, Ken Kilcrease, Joe Lane, and Caden Harley. Online condolences can be made at starrfuneralhome.com.
