Marlin Ray Lawson, 84, of Friendsville, MD, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at home on the farm he dearly loved. Born April 1, 1935, in Friendsville, he was the son of the late Russell Ray & Freda Murl (Sisler) Lawson. Mr. Lawson was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lena E. (Spaw) Lawson; one daughter, Nancy Lawson; two brothers Larry & Gary Lawson.

Mr. Lawson was a former business owner of several businesses in Friendsville and was a member of the Friendsville Lions Club and Sand Spring Church of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time at his winter home in Florida. Surviving is his wife, Bonita P. (Rugg) Merschat-Lawson; two sons, Mark Lawson & Michael Lawson and one daughter, Sherry Fike, all of Friendsville; 11 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Avenue, Friendsville, on Monday & Tuesday from 6-8 pm. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 11:00 am with Pastor Jim Teats officiating. Interment will be in Blooming Rose Cemetery.
