Obituary of Marta Gillespie Marta C. Gillespie, 66, Peru, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. She was born in Marion on September 12, 1951, to the late Paul Young and Lois (Kelch) Irvin, who survives. On March 31, 2017, Marta married Robert “Bob” Gillespie, and he survives.

Marta worked in home health care and was a huge Indianapolis Colts fan. She enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO, and she loved her dogs. Survivors include her husband, Bob, Peru; children, Todd (Kimberly) Brooks, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Tia Green, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Toby (Carrie) Brooks, Smyrna, Tennessee; step-son, Nathan Gillespie, Peru; 7 grandchildren, Brantley Brooks, Trenton Brooks, Lynnissa Green, Kurtis Green, Kyndall Brooks, James Brooks, and Hadley Gillespie; great-granddaughter, Raylynn Brooks; mother, Lois Irvin, Gas City; brothers, Dennis (Debbie) Young, Marion, John (Brenda) Young, New Hope, Arkansas, and Jeffrey (Linda) Young, Gas City; and sister, Carol (Bill) Scott, Elwood.

The family will receive visitors from 1 to 3 p.m. with Marta’s funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN. Pastor Paul McPhearson will be officiating with burial following at Estates of Serenity.
