Obituary for Martha Geraldine Blackmon Martha “Geraldine” Johnson Blackmon, 78, of Rock Hill, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at home. She was born August 15, 1939 in Rock Hill, SC, daughter of the late William Harry Johnson, Sr. and Della Catherine Roberts Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William George Blackmon, Jr. and brother, Ronnie Johnson.
Geraldine was a 1957 graduate from Rock Hill High School and also attended York Technical Community College. She retired from Smith Enterprises after many years of dedicated service. A faithful and active member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Geraldine was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Presbyterian Women, former deacon and served on the Service & Property Committee.
She enjoyed crocheting, crafts and planting flowers and watching them grow, especially her favorite, zinnias. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Frieda Railey and husband, Bobby, Cathy Hurlocker and husband, David and Doris Slaughter and husband, Bobby, all of Rock Hill; brothers, Bill Johnson and wife, Jane and Don Johnson and wife, Delores, all of Rock Hill; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced when finalized.
