Bennettsville Mrs. Martha Polston Turner passed away Sunday, Monday, May 20, 2018 at her residence after an illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was 73. Born December 21, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Esto Goins.

She attended North Laurinburg Baptist Church and later Northview Pentecostal Holiness Church in Laurinburg. She worked at Palmetto Color Lab where she was a film developer. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, flowers, her kids and grandchildren.

Mrs. Turner leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, James Franklin Turner; sons, James “Buck” Franklin, Jr. (Lisa Moncus) of Arat, NC and Wayne Turner (Amber) of Bennettsville; daughter, Angel Branton (Glenn) of McColl; brothers, Donald Goins of Bennettsville, Billy Goins (Bertha) of McColl, and Robert Goins (Lisa) of Bennettsville; sisters, Lidia Pearce (Ben) of Bennettsville, Pat Womack of McColl, Lisa Shelley of Bennettsville, and Jimmie Vessels (Pete) of Florence; grandchildren, Megan Mcgirt (John), Lil Wayne Turner, Kenny Turner, Daniel Turner, Maisyn Turner, Blake Turner, Aaron Jackson, and Carlee Jackson, Zack Thompson; great-grandchildren, Jazlyn Locklear and John Mcgirt, Jr.; special friends, Ida Mae and Sherry Hutchens. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her mother listed above; brothers, Glenn Polston, Buddy Polston; sister Dorothy “Pee Wee” Clark. A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home, officiated by Rev.

Gerald McDowell, with burial in Tatum Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2-3 pm just prior to the service.
