Bennettsville, SC Matthew Clinton Moore, 34, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in Bennettsville. Born December 12, 1983 in Florence, SC, he was a son of James Edwin Moore, III and the Late Gail Hendrix Moore. Matthew worked in the food service industry for many years at various restaurants.

Matthew attended Bethel United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Bennettsville. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing baseball and bingo, and all types of sports. He is survived by his father, James Edwin Moore, III (Barbara) of Bennettsville; brother, James “Jay” Edwin Moore, IV and his wife Brandi of Farmington, AR; nieces, Kally Stout and Keely Stout; nephew, James “JJ” Edwin Moore, V; Aunt Virginia and Uncle Jennings Miles of Bennettsville, Uncle Tony and Aunt Sue Moore of Pooler, GA, Aunt Shirley and Uncle Charles Caulder of Clio, Aunt Kathy Lewellen of Bennettsville; special cousins, Doug Miles and Jennifer Cottingham, and numerous other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother listed above, maternal grandmother, Evelyn Hannon and paternal grandmother, Helen O’Tuel Schoening. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Christ United Methodist Church, with visitation to be held from 2 until 3 p.m. just prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Marlboro Humane Society, P.O. Box 135, Bennettsville, SC, 29512.
