Martin H. Johnson, age 81 of North Branch passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at his daughter’s residence. Martin was born on February 19, 1937 in Sandstone to parents, Edward and Phyllis (Gilliver) Johnson. The family eventually moved to Forest Lake where he attended Forest Lake Schools and graduated in 1956.

Martin took a job with Burlington Northern Railroad where he worked for several years before he got injured. He eventually worked with his father doing building projects… Read More » and general handy work. He married Mary Woulfe in 1966 and they resided in White Bear Lake and later in Scandia.

He also served in the National Guard for four years. Martin enjoyed cabin life, fishing, reading mystery novels and watching documentaries. Martin is survived by his children, Kevin (Beth) Johnson of St. Paul, Linda Johnson of Isanti and Sherry (Steve) Holmgren of North Branch, sister, Linda (Ken) Vincent of Forest Lake as well as his seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Phyllis, brothers Dennis and Doug, sister Joan, wife Mary and grandson Ayden.
