Obituary of Martin West Martin G. West, Jr., 81, of Bradford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at home. He was born in Montour Falls on July 1, 1936, the son of Martin G. and Alma (Clark) West and attended Watkins Glen Central School. Marty served with the US Army in Korea from 1954-1962.

He was employed as a construction worker for 19 years, then worked as an auto mechanic at Ron Parmenter Motors. He also had his own auto repair garage at home. He retired from Fleet Bank in Watkins Glen as maintenance supervisor in 1995, was employed part time at Schuyler Hospital, and retired from Learn Motors on his 75th birthday on July 1, 2011.

Marty was an avid stock car race fan and driver at Chemung Speedway for many years. He loved MG cars and restored many of them. He was a member of the Mechanics Club in Montour Falls, American Legion Post #676, Montour Moose Lodge #426, a member of the Tyrone Methodist Church, and was a long time bowler for over 50 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Mervin West and Ray West, and sister Stella Hover. He is survived by his wife, Connie Howell West, whom he married on June 16, 1977; daughters, Debbie (Stephen) Bedient of Watkins Glen, Tammy (Jay) Little of Corning; grandchildren, Matthew Bedient of Seneca Falls, Jared Bedient of Canandaigua, Kyle Little of Lakeland, FL, and Amber Little of Corning; sister, Jolene (Carlton) Swick of Trumansburg; dear friends John and Linda Bailey of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 3-6 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at Tyrone United Methodist Church, 3647 Church Hill Rd. , Tyrone. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa.
