A funeral service for Mary Ann Ingram, age 90, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 2 o’clock in the afternoon Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Rev. Steve Edwards will officiate.

A visitation will begin at 1 p.m. She passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Jacksonville. She married Pirley H. Ingram on December 6, 1947. After moving to Jacksonville, she attended Jacksonville Baptist College and obtained her real estate license following her state exam. She worked as an agent for in Jacksonville for 16 years.

She worked for 14 years at the Dallas VA Hospital as a secretary in the Nursing Service, Nursing Education, Psychology Service and coordinating the Psychiatric Consultation Program between the VA Hospital and Southwestern Medical School. For many years, Mary Ann was a member of Nan Travis Auxiliary and volunteered at Hope, Inc. where she served on their Board of Directors and Hope Advisory Board. She was also a member of the DAR, Ruth Class at Central Baptist Church and Homebound Ministry.

When her husband, Pirley, retired Dallas Transit in 1969, they owned and operated a 54-acre cattle ranch in Cove Springs for about 10 years. They then moved to Lake Jacksonville and then on to New Hope where again they raised cattle. Due to failing health problems, they then moved to Cherokee Club Estates in 1987.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva W. and Lillian (Kristen) Lemmon; and her husband, Pirley. Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Jean Ingram of TN; granddaughter, Julie Carpenter of FL; grandson, Jason Ingram (U.S. Coast Guard), FL; great-grandsons, Christopher and Michael Chang, Hunter, Tyler and Chase Ingram. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Hollon of Dallas; niece, Debbie Irons of Dallas; stepson, Jerry Ingram of Kaufman; and stepdaughters, Joy Reynolds of Kemp and Glenda Godwin of NM.
