Mary Ann (Svec) Lambert passed away on March 8, 2019 at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born July 5, 1932 in Schenectady, New York, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Louis and Amelia (Foltin) Svec. Mary Ann graduated from Johnstown High School in 1950.

In later years, she enjoyed monthly lunch dates with her high school classmates calling themselves the “lunch bunch”. On September 3, 1955, Mary Ann married Charles L. Lambert who passed away in 2002. Mary Ann worked at P&C Food Market in Johnstown for many years until her retirement.

She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Johnstown. Mary Ann was fiercely determined to live independently and to remain in Johnstown, the only home she knew. She would not have been able to do so more recently if not for the compassionate support of Beth Hibbard.

Mary Ann’s family is indebted to Beth for her kindness, patience and presence when they couldn’t be there. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ann was predeceased by her sister Lorraine Svec, brother Paul S. Svec, sisters-in-law Mary Lou Svec and Jacqueline Svec, and niece/goddaughter Lorraine Dundon. Mary Ann is survived by her daughter Charlene (Ken) Williams of Scarborough, Maine; son Mark (Holli) Lambert of Middleburg, Florida; grandchildren Chad (Taylor) Williams, Jessica (Robert) Pantazelos, Jared (Brooklyn) Lambert, Chase Lambert and Shelby Lambert; and great grandchildren Thea and Adria Pantazelos, Killian Lambert and Liam Williams.

Mary Ann also leaves behind her brother Richard (Dolores) Svec of Chevy Chase, Maryland and his children, Michael, Amy and Stephanie, and nephews Rick (Aileen) Svec and Paul Svec. Mary Ann’s family wishes to thank the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing for their wonderful care and kindness during the last few months of Mary Ann’s life. A memorial and burial will take place this spring in Johnstown.
