Sherry W. Stacy, age 68, of Caroga Lake, New York, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Niskayuna, New York surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 20, 1950 in Potsdam, a daughter of the late Alger Martin Whitmore and Freda Ruby Dorothy Whitmore. Sherry received her Bachelor of Arts Degree at SUNY Potsdam.

She was a Teacher for the Clifton-Fine Central School District for many years until her retirement. Her life was spent as a devoted teacher, wife, mother and grandmother. Sherry loved to travel.

She enjoyed golfing and playing the piano. She loved birds, flowers and the serenity of Caroga Lake. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and loved ones.

Mrs. Stacy was of the Methodist faith and attended the Hannawa Falls Methodist Church. She is survived by her two daughters April Steenburgh and her husband Brett and Cindy Yetto and her husband Matthew, both of Niskayuna, N.Y. and two grandchildren Chase Steenburgh and Bryan Yetto. In addition to her parents, Sherry was predeceased by her husband Gary David Stacy whom she married on August 21, 1971 and whom passed on October 8, 2013.

Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady. A memorial celebration of life service for Sherry will be conducted in early July. Contributions in Sherry’s memory may be made to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Rd.
