Leesville – Mary Elizabeth Erskine Martin Floyd, 102, affectionately known as “Mama Beth” passed away peacefully at home on October 30th, 2018. A funeral service will be held at Dunn’s Chapel Church (281 Chapel Road, West Columbia), on November 3rd at 1:00pm, preceded by a visitation from 11:30-12:30. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Arthur Erskine and Mary Caroline Williams Erskine, her husbands, George Martin and Arnold Floyd, three children, (twins) Herbert and Harold Martin and Eddie Floyd (CPO USN Ret. ) She is survived by her children, Rev. William Martin (Major USA Ret.

) (Nancy), G. Steve Martin, Elizabeth (BJ) Hopper, Caroline Bailey, Rev. Dr. Thomas Martin (CW4 USA Ret. ) (Kay), daughter-in-law, Donna Floyd, brother, H. Barr Erskine (Mary), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece and nephews.

“Mama Beth” was a 1933 graduate of Florence High School and a graduate of Queens College. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dunn’s Chapel Church. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
