Bien, currently residing in New Smyrna Beach, Florida passed away peacefully January 28, 2019 after a long illness. Born in Tupper Lake, New York on October 8, 1949 she was the daughter of Albin and Bette Le Mesurier Watras. Mary grew up in Amsterdam, New York and resided most of her life in Saratoga Springs, New York and Purceville, Virginia.

Mary was a graduate of Bishop Scully High School – Class of 1967. She also graduated from the Hartford Airline School. Of the Catholic faith, she was a communicant of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Spanning many years, her warm personality was utilized by many employers like Stewarts, the Bon Ton and Sun Microsystems in various customer service and administrative positions. Lastly, she was employed by Oracle Corporation before retiring in 2013. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, married October 24, 1970, Thomas J. Bien, New Smyrna Beach, Florida; daughters Nicole Burnette, Greensburg, Pennsylvania and Lee Ann Miller (Jonathan), Sanford, Florida; three grandchildren Rachel, Justin and Matthew of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; brothers John Watras (Nancy) of Broadalbin, New York and Stanley Watras (Kathy) of Amsterdam, New York; many nephews, nieces and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, New York followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis, Celebrant.

Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling period begins at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
