Obituary of Lori Monge Mrs. Lori Monge, of Kimball Street, Amsterdam died peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, January 12, 2019 surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 23, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Victor and Anna Russo Marcinkiewicz . A lifelong area resident, Lori was educated at St. Joseph’s School and graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School.

She also attended Art School in Florida and was a graduate of the University at Pittsburgh with a degree in Interior Design. Lori worked for over 20 years for Ward Products of Amsterdam. She then owned and operated her own bakery, Sweet Treats in Albany until her retirement.

Lori loved being a wife, a mother and more importantly a grandmother. She enjoyed time with family, baking, cooking and sharing her gift of the arts. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Miguel; two daughters, Natalee Malpass and her husband Ryan of Gloversville and Heather Monge of Amsterdam; her beloved grandchildren, Grace and Eli; two sisters, Sue Ann Silva and her husband Scott of Florida and Gina Politi of Alabama; a nephew Jason Silva and his wife Paige of Texas; a niece Jennifer Rinker and her husband David of Florida; several extended family members and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 10 o’clock at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main Street, Gloversville with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel as celebrant.

Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 4 until 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lori’s name may be made to Community Hospice www.communityhospice.org Please visit the online memorial at www.
