Obituary for Mary Frances Perez Mary Frances Perez, 99, was called home Wednesday September 5, 2018 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas. She was born November 28, 1918 in Yates Center, Kansas the daughter of Lee and Juana (Rodregus Ramirez) Beltran. Mrs. Perez was raised in a rural farmhouse between Holcomb and Deerfield.

She married Mauro M. Perez in Garden City, Kansas on August 8, 1943. He died February 21, 1983. A resident of Lakin for over 65 years, she had worked for the hospital first as a cook and later as a dietician.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and collecting knick-knacks, rocks and purses. She loved wildlife, especially her birds and pet rabbits.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Martha Perez; grandchildren, Christopher William Perez, Robert Walter Garcia, Eric Andrew Perez & Anna Maria Perez; siblings, Lola, Carmen, Annie, Manuel, Joe, Raymond, & Christina Beltran. Survivors include her children, Raymond Perez, Anthony Perez, Virginia Garcia, Jane Perez, Rosalie Herrman, Phillip Perez, Lupe Fox, Martha M. Parker, & David Perez; 22 Grandchildren; 33 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren & 1 Great Great Great Grandchild. A Rosary will be held 7:00 pm, Sunday September 9, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakin.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Monday, September 10, 2018 also at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Peter Tran as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Lakin Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm & Sunday, September 9, 2018 from12:00 – 5:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin.
