Mary Gene Hammond 78 of Jeffersonville, IN and formerly of New Washington, IN passed away on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at Riverbend Cottage in Jeffersonville. She was born on December 22, 1939 in Clark County, IN to Bryan and Mary Bussey Bower. She was a former homemaker and teacher at Southwestern Middle School, and a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in New Washington.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Thomas; grandson, Jared Hammond and a brother, Ronnie Bower. Survivors include her son, Geoffrey Hammond (Yulan) of Downingtown, PA; daughters, Teresa Conrad (Mark) of Jeffersonville, Susan Davidson of New Albany, IN; Jennifer Hammond of Jeffersonville; brother, Gary Bower (Debbie) of Spartanburg, SC; sister-in-law, Doris Bower of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Derek Hammond (Stephanie), Nicholas Conrad, Clay Davidson (Nanda) , and Cassie Davidson; great- granddaughter, Harper Hammond. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday June 8, 2018 at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 pm to 8 pm and after 9 am on Friday.
