Obituary for Mary Helen Day RICHMOND, Ind. – Mary Helen Day, age 86, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at her home. Born May 30, 1932, in Kingston, Tennessee, to James and Grace Lemon Harrison, Mary lived in this community most of her life.

She formerly worked as a seamstress at Nettle Creek Industries for 25 years. Mary was a member of Living Faith Church of God. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Melinda K. McKinney of Loveland, Colorado, and Teresa J. Mills of Richmond; son, Carl W. Day of Lenoir, Tennessee; grandchildren, Carl W. (Tammy) Day Jr., Tara (Mike) Wimberly, Travis Kennedy, Winford (Misty) Day, Sara (Greg Miller) Hazen, and Casey McKinney; great-grandchildren, Tyler Black, Everleigh and Cameron Day, Bradley Flannery, Jackson and Grace Wimberly, Matilda Kennedy, and Dale, Will, and Luke Hazen; sisters, Jessie Brogdon and Sue (Rick) Callahan, both of Lynn, Indiana; sisters-in-law, Mildred Harrison of Kokomo, Indiana, and Louise Harrison of Tennessee; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends, including special friend, Sherry Robertson of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Carl L. Day, who died February 15, 2010; parents; sisters, Lucy May Harrison and Ruby Miller; and brothers, James David “JD”, Bill, and Robert Harrison. Visitation for Mary Helen Day will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Living Faith Church of God, 3777 Nolands Fork Road, Richmond.

Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Living Faith Church of God with Pastor Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
