Obituary for Mary L. Johnson Eaton, Ohio – Mary L. Johnson, age 96, formerly of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018, at Vancrest of Eaton. Born May 15, 1922, in New Castle, Indiana, to Carl and Hattie Blackburn Hagerman, Mary lived in Richmond most of her life, until moving to her granddaughter’s home in Eaton in 2008. She retired from Berman’s Drug Store and had formerly worked at Veach’s department store.

Mary attended Grace Lutheran Church in Eaton. Survivors include her grandchildren, Delmar Ray (Dawn) Johnson Jr. of Rickreall, Oregon, Rev. Bill (Linda) Johnson of Bedford, Indiana, and Karen Schaeff of Eaton; seven great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn M. Corman of Richmond; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Thomas J. Johnson, who died February 3, 2006; only son, Delmar Ray Johnson Sr., who died in September 1967; granddaughter, Kathi Mull; parents; sisters, Pauline Hollingsworth, Dorothy Swink, and Betty Scull; and brother, Robert Hagerman. Visitation for Mary L. Johnson will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev.

Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
